Some big news regarding The Knights of WestFest in Limerick in September. Boyce Avenue will headline the Festival on Saturday 14th of September. Tickets are €10 and supporting them on the night will be Hermitage Green. Boyce Avenue are currently touring Europe and the US but will stop off in Newcastle West to play this one gig which is not to be missed.

One of the greatest comedians of this generation, Billy Connolly, will be playing a gig in the University Concert Hall on may 6th and 7th at 8pm. Tickets are now on sale at the box office in the foundation building and cost €55. A great night can be promised as he is one of the funniest men around.

A soccer blitz has been aranged in aid of the Child of Haiti. It will take place this Wednesday, 24th April, on the hockey pitches starting at 6pm. Entry fee is €6.50 per player. A trophy Peresentation will take place in the Sports Bar afterwards and finger food will be proveied. If you don’t have a team but wish to take part please contact John Mulligan on 0860232218. A tour of the Aran islands has been arranged by the Students Union. It will take place on Saturday the 27th of April. A Bus will depart from outside the Foundation Building at 8:00 sharp. If you plan on attending be sure to bring warm clothes, have suitable footwear, and of course bring a packed lunch with plenty of water for the day. The tour will last around 5 hours so be sure to bring your camera to capture the amazing scenery. Tickets are now available from the Students Union at a price of €28 which includes the ferry to the island which is worth €15 alone.
Be sure not to miss out on what will be a memorable experience 🙂

Bus tickets are still available for the first year ball that takes place this Thursday. Tickets can be purchased from the Students Union at a cost of €5 return. Bus times are as follows, 7 pm, 7:40 pm and 8:20 pm. Tickets are also avalible for the ball that takes place in The South Court Hotel on April 25th at a price of €20.
